Located in the large city of Denver, DU is a private not-for-profit school with a fairly large student population. DU also took the #1 spot in our Best Colleges for Finance & Financial Management in the Rocky Mountains Region rankings.
The student loan default rate at DU is lower than is typical, just 0.7% of students default in three years. 3,512 of DU students are exclusively distance learners. About 5,249 of the students at DU are attending part time.

University of Utah earned the #2 spot in our 2021 rankings. Located in the midsize city of Salt Lake City, U of U is a public school with a very large student population. U of U not only placed well in our non-traditional rankings. It is also #3 on our Best Colleges for Finance & Financial Management in the Rocky Mountains Region list.
The school has a low student loan default rate of 0.8%. There are approximately 19,378 students at U of U that take at least one class online. 7,185 students are part time.
