When pursuing a degree in today’s world, veterans have many different options to choose from. Our “Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for General Business” ranking is part of that endeavor.

General Business/Commerce is the 16th most popular major in the country with 56,042 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, general business/commerce graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $43,399 and had an average of $26,389 in loans still to pay off.

Across the New England region, there were 3,482 general business/commerce graduates with average earnings and debt of $53,313 and $20,424 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for General Business” ranking analyzed 35 colleges that offered a degree in general business/commerce. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent general business/commerce programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as veteran satisfaction, veteran affordability, and overall quality of the general business/commerce program at the school. See our ranking methodology to learn more.

Western Connecticut State University landed the #24 spot on the 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for General Business ranking. Western Connecticut State University is a public institution located in Danbury, Connecticut. The school has a small population, and it awarded 14 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.

The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $9,114. During this same period, 3 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Western Connecticut State University does offer credit for military training for eligible students.
