When it comes to choosing a college, veterans have a lot of options - but not all of them are good. College Factual has developed its “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Hospitality for a Bachelor’s” ranking as one item you can use to help make this decision.
Hospitality Management is the 66th most popular major in the country with 17,689 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, hospitality management graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $35,874 and had an average of $22,906 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southwest region, there were 1,831 hospitality management graduates with average earnings and debt of $35,320 and $20,222 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 969 hospitality management graduates with average earnings and debt of $40,112 and $26,227 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Hospitality for a Bachelor’s” ranking looked at 12 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in hospitality management. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent hospitality management programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

Out of the 12 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Hospitality for a Bachelor’s that were part of this year’s ranking, Texas A&M University - College Station landed the #1 spot on the list. Texas A&M University - College Station is a large school located in College Station, Texas that handed out 118 bachelors’s hospitality degrees in 2020-2021.

The school has a large population, and it awarded 35 bachelors’s degrees in 2020-2021.

Oklahoma State University - Main Campus is a large public school situated in Stillwater, Oklahoma. It awarded 53 bachelors’s hospitality degrees in 2020-2021.
OSU also made our “Best Hospitality Management Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” list, coming in at #7.Our most recent data shows that 1,038 of the 24,535 students enrolled at OSU were GI Bill® students, of which 439 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients.
