With all of the options veterans have for higher education today, it can be tough to choose which direction to take. In 2020-2021, 13,680 people earned their degree in management information systems, making the major the 73rd most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, management information systems graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $57,647 and had an average of $24,340 in loans still to pay off.
Across Pennsylvania, there were 440 management information systems graduates with average earnings and debt of $57,605 and $26,885 respectively.
For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Pennsylvania for MIS” ranking, we looked at 16 colleges that offer a degree in management information systems. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great management information systems programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.
Some of the factors we look at when determining these rankings are overall quality of the management information systems program at the school, veteran affordability, and veteran population. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.

Out of the 16 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in Pennsylvania for MIS that were part of this year’s ranking, Drexel University landed the #1 spot on the list. This large school is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and it awarded 75 ’s MIS degrees in 2020-2021.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Carnegie Mellon University. The school came in at #2 for the Most Veteran Friendly in Pennsylvania for MIS. Carnegie Mellon University is a fairly large private not-for-profit school situated in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It awarded 3 ’s MIS degrees in 2020-2021.
