It’s not easy to decide which college to attend when there so many options available for veterans. Our “Most Veteran Friendly in the Great Lakes Region for Communications for a Doctorate” ranking is part of that endeavor.
With 66,787 degrees handed out in 2020-2021, communication and media studies is the 10th most popular major in the United States. In 2019-2020, communication and media studies graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $34,115 and had an average of $25,414 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Great Lakes region, there were 9,064 communication and media studies graduates with average earnings and debt of $35,036 and $25,485 respectively.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University of Michigan - Ann Arbor. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Great Lakes Region for Communications for a Doctorate list. This large school is located in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and it awarded 5 doctorate’s communications degrees in 2020-2021.
