The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great journalism programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University of Colorado Boulder. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Rocky Mountains Region for Journalism for a Bachelor’s list. Located in Boulder, Colorado, this large public school handed out 68 diplomas to qualified bachelors’s journalism students in 2020-2021.

CU - Boulder also made our “Best Journalism Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region” list, coming in at #1.According to our most recent data, CU - Boulder supports 37,437 students, and 1,379 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 968 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $12,889. In addition to receiving other benefits, 46 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Students may be able to receive credit for their military training, depending on their background.

The low undergrad student loan default rate of [DEFAULT_RATE_STRING]% is a good sign that students have an easier time paying off their loans than they might at other schools. You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Colorado State University - Fort Collins. The school came in at #2 for the Most Veteran Friendly in the Rocky Mountains Region for Journalism for a Bachelor’s. Colorado State University - Fort Collins is a public institution located in Fort Collins, Colorado. The school has a large population, and it awarded 128 bachelors’s degrees in 2020-2021.

Colorado State did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #2 on our “Best Journalism Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region” list.Of the 32,428 students enrolled at Colorado State University - Fort Collins, 1,606 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. DU is a fairly large school located in Denver, Colorado that handed out 11 bachelors’s journalism degrees in 2020-2021.

DU also took the #4 spot in our “Best Journalism Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 571 of the 13,856 students enrolled at DU were GI Bill® students, of which 373 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. MSU Denver did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #9 on our “Best Journalism Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region” list.According to our most recent data, MSU Denver supports 19,086 students, and 1,222 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 867 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients.
