Our “Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Communication & Journalism” ranking is part of that endeavor.
Communication & Journalism is the 11th most popular major in the country with 120,571 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, communication and journalism graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $34,266 and had an average of $24,758 in loans still to pay off.
Across the New England region, there were 7,134 communication and journalism graduates with average earnings and debt of $36,662 and $26,011 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Communication & Journalism” ranking looked at 49 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in communication and journalism. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality communication and journalism programs as well as strong veteran support.
To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as veteran satisfaction, veteran affordability, and overall quality of the communication and journalism program at the school. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.

Top 25 Best Communication & Journalism Colleges for Veterans in the New England Region
Out of the 49 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Communication & Journalism that were part of this year’s ranking, Quinnipiac University landed the #1 spot on the list. Hamden, Connecticut is the setting for this medium-sized institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out ’s communication and journalism degrees to 205 students in 2020-2021.
