For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Great Lakes Region for Informatics” ranking, we looked at 7 colleges that offer a degree in informatics. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent informatics programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

The following schools top our list of the Best “Most Veteran Friendly in the Great Lakes Region for Informatics”.
You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend University of Michigan - Ann Arbor. The school came in at #1 for the Most Veteran Friendly in the Great Lakes Region for Informatics. U-M is a public institution located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The school has a large population, and it awarded 11 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.
In addition to being on our great lakes region vets studying informatics list, U-M has also earned the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] rank in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Among the 47,907 students enrolled at U-M, 570 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 325 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $27,058. In addition to receiving other benefits, 0 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. U-M does offer credit for military training for eligible students.

The school came in at #2 for the Most Veteran Friendly in the Great Lakes Region for Informatics. Bloomington, Indiana is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out ’s informatics degrees to 483 students in 2020-2021.
IU Bloomington also made our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list, coming in at #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS].Of the 43,064 students enrolled at Indiana University - Bloomington, 1 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. UW - Stout is a medium-sized school located in Menomonie, Wisconsin that handed out 10 ’s informatics degrees in 2020-2021.
UW - Stout did well in our major quality rankings, too.
