It’s not easy to decide which college to attend when there so many options available for veterans. College Factual has developed its “Most Veteran Friendly for IT for an Associate” ranking as one item you can use to help make this decision.
In 2020-2021, 31,531 people earned their degree in information technology, making the major the 35th most popular in the United States.
At the associate degree level specifically, there were 5,326 information technology graduates with average earnings and debt of $35,806 and $19,336 respectively.
For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly for IT for an Associate” ranking, we looked at 62 colleges that offer a degree in information technology. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great information technology programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.
Some of the factors we look at when determining these rankings are overall quality of the information technology program at the school, veteran affordability, and veteran population. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.

Out of the 62 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly for IT for an Associate that were part of this year’s ranking, Keiser University - Ft Lauderdale landed the #1 spot on the list. Keiser University - Ft Lauderdale is a fairly large private not-for-profit school situated in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It awarded 175 associates’s IT degrees in 2020-2021.
Keiser University - Ft Lauderdale also made our “Best Information Technology Associate Degree Schools” list, coming in at #2.Of the 20,330 students enrolled at Keiser University - Ft Lauderdale, 75 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data.
