In 2020-2021, 31,531 people earned their degree in information technology, making the major the 35th most popular in the United States.
Across the Great Lakes region, there were 3,285 information technology graduates with average earnings and debt of $0 and $0 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Great Lakes Region for IT” ranking looked at 37 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in information technology. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality information technology programs as well as strong veteran support.
Some of the factors we look at when determining these rankings are overall quality of the information technology program at the school, veteran affordability, and veteran population. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Purdue University - Main Campus. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Great Lakes Region for IT list. Located in West Lafayette, Indiana, this large public school awarded 278 degrees to qualified ’s IT students in 2020-2021.

UC also took the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Of the 40,826 students enrolled at UC, 909 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data.
