This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Plains States Region for IT” ranking looked at 17 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in information technology. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent information technology programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.
When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the information technology program at the school, veteran affordability, and veteran satisfaction. See our ranking methodology to learn more.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University of Missouri - Columbia. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Plains States Region for IT list. Mizzou is located in Columbia, Missouri and, has a large student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 74 ’s IT degrees to qualified students.
In addition to being on our plains states region vets studying it list, Mizzou has also earned the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] rank in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Of the 31,089 students enrolled at Mizzou, 5 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of the 17 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the Plains States Region for IT that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Kansas landed the #2 spot on the list. University of Kansas is a large school located in Lawrence, Kansas that handed out 30 ’s IT degrees in 2020-2021.
KU did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] on our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list.Among the 26,744 students enrolled at University of Kansas, 70 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 40 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $10,917. Lindenwood University came in at #6 in this year’s edition of the Most Veteran Friendly in the Plains States Region for IT ranking. Lindenwood University is a medium-sized school located in Saint Charles, Missouri that handed out 30 ’s IT degrees in 2020-2021.
