In 2020-2021, 88,434 computer information systems students received their degree, making the major the 9th most popular in the country. In 2019-2020, computer information systems graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $54,066 and had an average of $26,787 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Rocky Mountains region, there were 4,895 computer information systems graduates with average earnings and debt of $57,982 and $27,392 respectively.

Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent computer information systems programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.

The low undergrad student loan default rate of 1.3% is a good sign that students have an easier time paying off their loans than they might at other schools. For comparison, the national default rate is 10.1%. With a freshman retention rate of 92%, the school does an excellent job of retaining its undergraduate students.

Front Range Community College came in at #6 in this year’s edition of the Best Value CIS Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region For Those Getting Aid ranking. Located in Westminster, Colorado, this fairly large public school awarded 177 diplomas to qualified ’s CIS students in 2020-2021.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at FRCC, the school also landed the #14 spot in our “Best Computer Information Systems Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region” ranking. The yearly cost to attend FRCC is $9,315 for Rocky Mountains Region CIS students with aid.
