When it comes to choosing a college, veterans have a lot of options - but not all of them are good. One of our goals at College Factual is to give you as much information as we can - such as our “Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for CIS for an Associate” ranking - to help you make that decision.
With 88,434 degrees handed out in 2020-2021, computer information systems is the 9th most popular major in the United States. In 2019-2020, computer information systems graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $54,066 and had an average of $26,787 in loans still to pay off.
Across the New England region, there were 4,815 computer information systems graduates with average earnings and debt of $61,933 and $24,269 respectively. At the associate degree level specifically, there were 546 computer information systems graduates with average earnings and debt of $38,618 and $16,599 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for CIS for an Associate” ranking analyzed 10 colleges that offered a degree in computer information systems. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great computer information systems programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.
To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as veteran satisfaction, veteran affordability, and overall quality of the computer information systems program at the school. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.

BHCC is a medium-sized school located in Boston, Massachusetts that handed out 15 associates’s CIS degrees in 2020-2021.

NHTI-Concord’s Community College is located in Concord, New Hampshire and, has a small student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 14 associates’s CIS degrees to qualified students.

Middlesex Community College is located in Bedford, Massachusetts and, has a medium-sized student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 27 associates’s CIS degrees to qualified students.
Middlesex Community College not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #4 on our “Best Computer Information Systems Associate Degree Schools in the New England Region” list.Our most recent data shows that 130 of the 6,885 students enrolled at Middlesex Community College were GI Bill® students, of which 93 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. Northern Essex Community College is a public institution located in Haverhill, Massachusetts. The school has a small population, and it awarded 36 associates’s degrees in 2020-2021.
NECC also made our “Best Computer Information Systems Associate Degree Schools in the New England Region” list, coming in at #3.Our most recent data shows that 116 of the 4,715 students enrolled at NECC were GI Bill® students, of which 65 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. CCRI also took the #8 spot in our “Best Computer Information Systems Associate Degree Schools in the New England Region” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 408 of the 13,684 students enrolled at CCRI were GI Bill® students, of which 199 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients.
