Computer Programming is the 108th most popular major in the country with 11,939 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, computer programming graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $45,629 and had an average of $27,450 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Great Lakes region, there were 2,052 computer programming graduates with average earnings and debt of $45,164 and $25,809 respectively. At the associate degree level specifically, there were 869 computer programming graduates with average earnings and debt of $36,077 and $19,490 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Great Lakes Region for Programming for an Associate” ranking looked at 27 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in computer programming. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent computer programming programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.
