Computer Programming is the 108th most popular major in the country with 11,939 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, computer programming graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $45,629 and had an average of $27,450 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Middle Atlantic region, there were 777 computer programming graduates with average earnings and debt of $48,415 and $29,033 respectively.
For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Middle Atlantic Region for Programming” ranking, we looked at 15 colleges that offer a degree in computer programming. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great computer programming programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Rochester Institute of Technology. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Middle Atlantic Region for Programming list. This fairly large school is located in Rochester, New York, and it awarded 23 ’s programming degrees in 2020-2021.
RIT did well in our major quality rankings, too. Glassboro, New Jersey is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out ’s programming degrees to 146 students in 2020-2021.
