In 2020-2021, 11,939 people earned their degree in computer programming, making the major the 108th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, computer programming graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $45,629 and had an average of $27,450 in loans still to pay off.
Across New York, there were 344 computer programming graduates with average earnings and debt of $47,383 and $22,150 respectively.
For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in New York for Programming” ranking, we looked at 9 colleges that offer a degree in computer programming. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent computer programming programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

Top 9 Best Computer Programming Colleges for Veterans in New York
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Rochester Institute of Technology. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in New York for Programming list. RIT is a fairly large private not-for-profit school situated in Rochester, New York. It awarded 23 ’s programming degrees in 2020-2021.
RIT also took the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.According to our most recent data, RIT supports 16,158 students, and 1 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 1 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients.
