Our “Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Programming” ranking is one tool we have developed to help in this regard.

In 2020-2021, 11,939 people earned their degree in computer programming, making the major the 108th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, computer programming graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $45,629 and had an average of $27,450 in loans still to pay off.

Across the New England region, there were 349 computer programming graduates with average earnings and debt of $49,806 and $24,237 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Programming” ranking looked at 8 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in computer programming. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent computer programming programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the computer programming program at the school, veteran affordability, and veteran satisfaction. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.

Bunker Hill Community College is located in Boston, Massachusetts and, has a medium-sized student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 22 ’s programming degrees to qualified students.

Yale did well in our major quality rankings, too. This fairly large school is located in Warwick, Rhode Island, and it awarded 33 ’s programming degrees in 2020-2021.

Champlain College is located in Burlington, Vermont and, has a small student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 58 ’s programming degrees to qualified students.

Waltham, Massachusetts is the setting for this medium-sized institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out ’s programming degrees to 6 students in 2020-2021.

As a testament to the quality of education offered at Brandeis, the school also landed the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Among the 5,440 students enrolled at Brandeis University, 41 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Western Connecticut State University is a small public school situated in Danbury, Connecticut. It awarded 9 ’s programming degrees in 2020-2021.

In addition to being on our new england region vets studying programming list, WestConn has also earned the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] rank in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 119 of the 5,246 students enrolled at WestConn were GI Bill® students, of which 83 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients.
