In 2019-2020, computer science graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $67,538 and had an average of $23,620 in loans still to pay off.

Across New Jersey, there were 853 computer science graduates with average earnings and debt of $87,859 and $27,000 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in New Jersey for CompSci for a Master’s” ranking looked at 3 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in computer science. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality computer science programs as well as strong veteran support.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Stevens Institute of Technology. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in New Jersey for CompSci for a Master’s list. Stevens is a private not-for-profit institution located in Hoboken, New Jersey. The school has a medium-sized population, and it awarded 266 masters’s degrees in 2020-2021.

Stevens also took the #1 spot in our “Best Computer Science Master’s Degree Schools in New Jersey” ranking.Among the 7,257 students enrolled at Stevens, 48 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 31 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $17,200. To help with additional expenses, 12 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program.

With a freshman retention rate of 93%, the school does an excellent job of retaining its undergraduate students. You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Fairleigh Dickinson University - Metropolitan Campus. It ranked #2 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in New Jersey for CompSci for a Master’s list. FDU is a private not-for-profit institution located in Teaneck, New Jersey. The school has a medium-sized population, and it awarded 28 masters’s degrees in 2020-2021.

FDU also made our “Best Computer Science Master’s Degree Schools in New Jersey” list, coming in at #2.Among the 7,479 students enrolled at FDU, 48 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 32 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $12,737. In addition to receiving other benefits, 14 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. FDU does offer credit for military training for eligible students.

Rowan University is a fairly large public school situated in Glassboro, New Jersey. It awarded 37 masters’s compsci degrees in 2020-2021.
