Our mission at College Factual is to arm you with as much information as we can to help you make that decision. Our “Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Information Science” ranking is one tool we have developed to help in this regard.
General Information Science is the 47th most popular major in the country with 18,325 degrees awarded in 2020-2021.
Across the New England region, there were 1,038 general information science graduates with average earnings and debt of $0 and $0 respectively.
For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Information Science” ranking, we looked at 10 colleges that offer a degree in general information science. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great general information science programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.
Some of the factors we look at when determining these rankings are overall quality of the general information science program at the school, veteran affordability, and veteran population. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.

The following schools top our list of the Best “Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Information Science”.
You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Norwich University. The school came in at #1 for the Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Information Science. Located in Northfield, Vermont, this small private not-for-profit school handed out 112 degrees to qualified ’s information science students in 2020-2021.
In addition to being on our new england region vets studying information science list, Norwich has also earned the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] rank in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Among the 3,975 students enrolled at Norwich University, 822 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 569 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $6,528. In addition to receiving other benefits, 55 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Quinnipiac University. The school came in at #2 for the Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Information Science. Located in Hamden, Connecticut, this medium-sized private not-for-profit school awarded 43 diplomas to qualified ’s information science students in 2020-2021.
Quinnipiac also took the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Of the 9,746 students enrolled at Quinnipiac, 16 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 4 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $21,337. During this same period, 4 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Students may be able to receive credit for their military training, depending on their background.
The low undergrad student loan default rate of [DEFAULT_RATE_STRING]% is a good sign that students have an easier time paying off their loans than they might at other schools. This fairly large school is located in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, and it awarded 102 ’s information science degrees in 2020-2021.
Boston College not only placed well in this ranking. Bunker Hill Community College is located in Boston, Massachusetts and, has a medium-sized student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 24 ’s information science degrees to qualified students.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at BHCC, the school also landed the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 355 of the 9,924 students enrolled at BHCC were GI Bill® students, of which 256 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. University of Massachusetts - Lowell came in at #6 in this year’s edition of the Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Information Science ranking. Lowell, Massachusetts is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out ’s information science degrees to 244 students in 2020-2021.
UMass Lowell did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] on our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list.According to our most recent data, UMass Lowell supports 18,150 students, and 623 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 290 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. Wentworth Institute of Technology came in at #7 in this year’s edition of the Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Information Science ranking. Located in Boston, Massachusetts, this small private not-for-profit school awarded 25 diplomas to qualified ’s information science students in 2020-2021.
In addition to being on our new england region vets studying information science list, WIT has also earned the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] rank in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Of the 4,389 students enrolled at WIT, 136 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 71 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $14,901. In addition to receiving other benefits, 12 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. WIT does offer credit for military training for eligible students.

Harvard University came in at #8 in this year’s edition of the Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Information Science ranking. Harvard University is a large school located in Cambridge, Massachusetts that handed out 11 ’s information science degrees in 2020-2021.
Harvard not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] on our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list.Among the 30,391 students enrolled at Harvard, 304 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 254 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $8,012. During this same period, 1 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program.
