Information Science is the 58th most popular major in the country with 18,325 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, information science graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $59,394 and had an average of $28,852 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southeast region, there were 2,218 information science graduates with average earnings and debt of $57,109 and $37,581 respectively.

The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great information science programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.

Out of the 44 schools in the Best Value IS Schools in the Southeast Region For Those Making $48-$75k that were part of this year’s ranking, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill landed the #1 spot on the list.
