Missouri University of Science and Technology is a moderately-sized public school located in the remote town of Rolla. Missouri University of Science and Technology also made our Best Colleges for Information Science in the Plains States Region list, coming in at #1.

Fort Hays State University landed the #2 spot in our 2021 best information science schools for non-traditional students. FHSU is a large public school located in the remote town of Hays. FHSU not only placed well in our non-traditional rankings. It is also #5 on our Best Colleges for Information Science in the Plains States Region list.
The student loan default rate at FHSU is lower than is typical, just 1.8% of students default in three years. 6,600 of FHSU students are exclusively distance learners. 8,687 students are part time.

University of Nebraska at Omaha landed the #3 spot in our 2021 best information science schools for non-traditional students. UNOMAHA is a large public school located in the city of Omaha. UNOMAHA also made our Best Colleges for Information Science in the Plains States Region list, coming in at #2.
The student loan default rate at UNOMAHA is lower than is typical, just 0.3% of students default in three years. There are approximately 8,191 students at UNOMAHA that take at least one class online. 4,328 of UNOMAHA students are attending part time.

Metropolitan State University landed the #4 spot in our 2021 best information science schools for non-traditional students. Metro State is a moderately-sized public school located in the large city of Saint Paul. Metro State not only placed well in our non-traditional rankings. It is also #4 on our Best Colleges for Information Science in the Plains States Region list.
About 1.4% of Metro State students default on their loans in three years, which is lower than average. There are approximately 2,941 students at Metro State that take at least one class online. There are roughly 4,032 part time students in attendance at Metro State.

The #5 spot in this year's ranking belongs to Emporia State University. ESU is a medium-sized public school located in the remote town of Emporia. As a testament to the quality of education offered at ESU, the school also landed the #3 rank in our Best Colleges for Information Science in the Plains States Region ranking.
