Information Science is the 58th most popular major in the country with 18,325 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, information science graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $59,394 and had an average of $28,852 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Middle Atlantic region, there were 8,721 information science graduates with average earnings and debt of $58,870 and $26,542 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 5,798 information science graduates with average earnings and debt of $40,457 and $25,851 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Middle Atlantic Region for IS for a Bachelor’s” ranking analyzed 39 colleges that offered a degree in information science. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great information science programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.
