Information Science is the 58th most popular major in the country with 18,325 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, information science graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $59,394 and had an average of $28,852 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southeast region, there were 2,218 information science graduates with average earnings and debt of $57,109 and $37,581 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for IS” ranking looked at 52 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in information science. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great information science programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

Located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, this large public school handed out 111 degrees to qualified ’s IS students in 2020-2021.
