Information Science is the 58th most popular major in the country with 18,325 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, information science graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $59,394 and had an average of $28,852 in loans still to pay off.
Across Florida, there were 405 information science graduates with average earnings and debt of $62,523 and $42,545 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Florida for IS” ranking analyzed 7 colleges that offered a degree in information science. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent information science programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.
To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as veteran satisfaction, veteran affordability, and overall quality of the information science program at the school. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Florida State University. The school came in at #1 for the Most Veteran Friendly in Florida for IS. Florida State is a large school located in Tallahassee, Florida that handed out 115 ’s IS degrees in 2020-2021.

Out of the 7 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in Florida for IS that were part of this year’s ranking, University of South Florida - Main Campus landed the #2 spot on the list. This large school is located in Tampa, Florida, and it awarded 22 ’s IS degrees in 2020-2021.
USF Tampa not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] on our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list.According to our most recent data, University of South Florida - Main Campus supports 50,626 students, and 2,211 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 1,241 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Nova Southeastern University. It ranked #4 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in Florida for IS list. Located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, this large private not-for-profit school handed out 66 diplomas to qualified ’s IS students in 2020-2021.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at NUS Florida, the school also landed the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.According to our most recent data, Nova Southeastern University supports 20,888 students, and 522 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 335 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $12,213. On top of their other funding sources, 70 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Nova Southeastern University offers credit for military training for eligible students.
