Information Technology is the 42nd most popular major in the country with 40,555 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, information technology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $46,525 and had an average of $26,794 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Rocky Mountains region, there were 3,606 information technology graduates with average earnings and debt of $50,266 and $30,344 respectively.
For this year’s “Best Value IT Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region For Those Making $75-$110k” ranking, we looked at 12 colleges that offer a degree in information technology. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent information technology programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Western Governors University. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Best Value IT Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region For Those Making $75-$110k list. Western Governors University is a large private not-for-profit school situated in Salt Lake City, Utah. It awarded 2,607 ’s IT degrees in 2020-2021.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at WGU, the school also landed the #1 spot in our “Best Information Technology Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region” ranking. It costs about $13,790 for Rocky Mountains Region IT students whose families make $75-$110k per year to attend WGU.

Located in Nampa, Idaho, this fairly large public school awarded 96 degrees to qualified ’s IT students in 2020-2021.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Brigham Young University - Provo. The school came in at #3 for the Best Value IT Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region For Those Making $75-$110k. Brigham Young University - Provo is a large school located in Provo, Utah that handed out 223 ’s IT degrees in 2020-2021.
BYU also took the #2 spot in our “Best Information Technology Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region” ranking. The estimated yearly cost for Brigham Young University - Provo is $15,777 for rocky mountains region it students whose families make $75-$110k.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Utah Valley University. It ranked #5 on our 2023 Best Value IT Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region For Those Making $75-$110k list. UVU is a large public school situated in Orem, Utah. It awarded 83 ’s IT degrees in 2020-2021.
UVU also took the #6 spot in our “Best Information Technology Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region” ranking. The yearly cost to attend UVU is $12,446 for Rocky Mountains Region IT students whose families make $75-$110k.
