Students have lots of options to chooose from today when trying to decide which college to attend. College Factual has developed its “Most Well Attended IT Major in Georgia” ranking as one item you can use to help make this decision.
In 2020-2021, 40,555 people earned their degree in information technology, making the major the 42nd most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, information technology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $46,525 and had an average of $26,794 in loans still to pay off.
Across Georgia, there were 2,741 information technology graduates with average earnings and debt of $42,005 and $26,446 respectively.
This year’s “Most Well Attended IT Major in Georgia” ranking looked at 39 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in information technology. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have one of the most popular information technology programs in the United States.

Georgia Institute of Technology - Main Campus ranked #6 on this year’s Most Well Attended IT Major in Georgia list. Located in Atlanta, Georgia, this large public school awarded 47 diplomas to qualified ’s IT students in 2020-2021.
The low undergrad student loan default rate of 0.9% is a good sign that students have an easier time paying off their loans than they might at other schools. For comparison, the national default rate is 10.1%. The school has an excellent freshman retention rate of 97%, which means students like the school well enough to return for a second year.
