Veterans have lots of options to chooose from today when trying to decide which college to attend. Information Technology is the 42nd most popular major in the country with 40,555 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, information technology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $46,525 and had an average of $26,794 in loans still to pay off.
Across Ohio, there were 1,118 information technology graduates with average earnings and debt of $37,948 and $24,978 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 208 information technology graduates with average earnings and debt of $39,341 and $26,852 respectively.
For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Ohio for IT for a Bachelor’s” ranking, we looked at 8 colleges that offer a degree in information technology. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality information technology programs as well as strong veteran support.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend University of Cincinnati - Main Campus. The school came in at #1 for the Most Veteran Friendly in Ohio for IT for a Bachelor’s. UC is a large public school situated in Cincinnati, Ohio. It awarded 101 bachelors’s IT degrees in 2020-2021.
UC also made our “Best Information Technology Bachelor’s Degree Schools in Ohio” list, coming in at #1.Our most recent data shows that 909 of the 40,826 students enrolled at University of Cincinnati - Main Campus were GI Bill® students, of which 498 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $7,806. In addition to receiving other benefits, 15 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program.
