In 2019-2020, information technology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $46,525 and had an average of $26,794 in loans still to pay off.
Across Florida, there were 2,905 information technology graduates with average earnings and debt of $46,097 and $22,241 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 652 information technology graduates with average earnings and debt of $38,395 and $25,950 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Florida for IT for a Bachelor’s” ranking analyzed 10 colleges that offered a degree in information technology. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent information technology programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.
When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the information technology program at the school, veteran affordability, and veteran satisfaction. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.

U Miami is a fairly large private not-for-profit school situated in Coral Gables, Florida. It awarded 48 bachelors’s IT degrees in 2020-2021.

With a freshman retention rate of 91%, the school does an excellent job of retaining its undergraduate students. The school has an impressive undergrad student loan default rate. It’s only [DEFAULT_RATE_STRING]%, which is much lower than the national rate of 10.1%.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend The University of West Florida. It ranked #3 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in Florida for IT for a Bachelor’s list. Pensacola, Florida is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out bachelors’s IT degrees to 29 students in 2020-2021.
UWF did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #8 on our “Best Information Technology Bachelor’s Degree Schools in Florida” list.Our most recent data shows that 1,438 of the 13,061 students enrolled at UWF were GI Bill® students, of which 750 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $3,810. On top of their other funding sources, 7 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. St Petersburg College is located in Clearwater, Florida and, has a large student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 140 bachelors’s IT degrees to qualified students.
