It’s not easy to decide which college to attend when there so many options available for veterans. College Factual was founded, in part, to help students make the decision as to what would be the best school for them. Our “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Computer & Information Sciences for an Associate” ranking is part of that endeavor.
In 2020-2021, 254,454 computer and information sciences students received their degree, making the major the 6th most popular in the country. In 2019-2020, computer and information sciences graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $52,893 and had an average of $27,324 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southwest region, there were 26,018 computer and information sciences graduates with average earnings and debt of $49,252 and $28,012 respectively. At the associate degree level specifically, there were 4,270 computer and information sciences graduates with average earnings and debt of $35,810 and $18,681 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Computer & Information Sciences for an Associate” ranking analyzed 21 colleges that offered a degree in computer and information sciences. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality computer and information sciences programs as well as strong veteran support.

University of the Incarnate Word landed the #9 spot on the 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Computer & Information Sciences for an Associate ranking. University of the Incarnate Word is located in San Antonio, Texas and, has a medium-sized student population.
