When it comes to choosing a college, veterans have a lot of options - but not all of them are good. College Factual was founded, in part, to help students make the decision as to what would be the best school for them. Our “Most Veteran Friendly in Virginia for Computer & Information Sciences for a Master’s” ranking is part of that endeavor.
With 254,454 degrees handed out in 2020-2021, computer and information sciences is the 6th most popular major in the United States. In 2019-2020, computer and information sciences graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $52,893 and had an average of $27,324 in loans still to pay off.
Across Virginia, there were 7,695 computer and information sciences graduates with average earnings and debt of $52,861 and $30,103 respectively.
For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Virginia for Computer & Information Sciences for a Master’s” ranking, we looked at 14 colleges that offer a degree in computer and information sciences. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality computer and information sciences programs as well as strong veteran support.
Some of the factors we look at when determining these rankings are overall quality of the computer and information sciences program at the school, veteran affordability, and veteran population. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.
The following schools top our list of the Best “Most Veteran Friendly in Virginia for Computer & Information Sciences for a Master’s”.
You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend George Mason University. The school came in at #1 for the Most Veteran Friendly in Virginia for Computer & Information Sciences for a Master’s. Located in Fairfax, Virginia, this large public school handed out 400 degrees to qualified masters’s computer and information sciences students in 2020-2021.
GMU also took the #3 spot in our “Best Computer & Information Sciences Master’s Degree Schools in Virginia” ranking.According to our most recent data, George Mason University supports 38,541 students, and 2,334 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 1,583 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $10,710. In addition to receiving other benefits, 42 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program.
