Our mission at College Factual is to arm you with as much information as we can to help you make that decision. Our “Most Veteran Friendly in New Mexico for Computer & Information Sciences” ranking is one tool we have developed to help in this regard.
In 2020-2021, 254,454 computer and information sciences students received their degree, making the major the 6th most popular in the country. In 2019-2020, computer and information sciences graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $52,893 and had an average of $27,324 in loans still to pay off.
Across New Mexico, there were 705 computer and information sciences graduates with average earnings and debt of $50,960 and $31,198 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in New Mexico for Computer & Information Sciences” ranking looked at 3 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in computer and information sciences. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great computer and information sciences programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University of New Mexico - Main Campus. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in New Mexico for Computer & Information Sciences list. This large school is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and it awarded 115 ’s computer and information sciences degrees in 2020-2021.
UNM did well in our major quality rankings, too. You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend New Mexico State University - Main Campus. The school came in at #2 for the Most Veteran Friendly in New Mexico for Computer & Information Sciences. This fairly large school is located in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and it awarded 125 ’s computer and information sciences degrees in 2020-2021.
NMSU Main Campus also took the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Among the 14,227 students enrolled at New Mexico State University - Main Campus, 620 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 285 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $3,880. During this same period, 0 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Students may be able to receive credit for their military training, depending on their background.

The school came in at #3 for the Most Veteran Friendly in New Mexico for Computer & Information Sciences. CNM is a fairly large public school situated in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It awarded 177 ’s computer and information sciences degrees in 2020-2021.
CNM also took the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 839 of the 21,398 students enrolled at CNM were GI Bill® students, of which 390 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $1,171. During this same period, 0 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Eligible students may be able to receive credit for their military training.
