In 2020-2021, 1,435 people earned their degree in construction, making the major the 284th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, construction graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $33,364 and had an average of $9,374 in loans still to pay off.
This year’s “Most Well Attended Construction Major” ranking analyzed 66 colleges that offered a degree in construction. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have one of the most popular construction programs in the United States.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Triton College. It ranked #2 on our 2023 Most Well Attended Construction Major list. Out of the 66 schools in the Most Well Attended Construction Major that were part of this year’s ranking, Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology landed the #3 spot on the list. Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology is a public institution located in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. The school has a small population, and it awarded 35 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.

Out of the 66 schools in the Most Well Attended Construction Major that were part of this year’s ranking, State Technical College of Missouri landed the #4 spot on the list. Located in Linn, Missouri, this small public school handed out 22 degrees to qualified ’s construction students in 2020-2021.
The school has an impressive undergrad student loan default rate. It’s only 4.9%, which is much lower than the national rate of 10.1%.
