With all of the options veterans have for higher education today, it can be tough to choose which direction to take. College Factual has developed its “Most Veteran Friendly in the Middle Atlantic Region for Construction Trades” ranking as one item you can use to help make this decision.
In 2020-2021, 35,794 people earned their degree in construction trades, making the major the 34th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, construction trades graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $38,184 and had an average of $11,556 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Middle Atlantic region, there were 3,906 construction trades graduates with average earnings and debt of $38,671 and $11,321 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Middle Atlantic Region for Construction Trades” ranking looked at 15 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in construction trades. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent construction trades programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

Out of the 15 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the Middle Atlantic Region for Construction Trades that were part of this year’s ranking, Pennsylvania College of Technology landed the #1 spot on the list. This small school is located in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, and it awarded 102 ’s construction trades degrees in 2020-2021.
Penn College did well in our major quality rankings, too. RVCC is located in Branchburg, New Jersey and, has a medium-sized student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 15 ’s construction trades degrees to qualified students.
