Best General Education Schools for Non-Traditional Students
Florida Atlantic University tops the 2021 list of our schools in the Southeast Region that are best for non-traditional general education students. Located in the small city of Boca Raton, FAU is a public school with a fairly large student population. FAU also took the #3 spot in our Best Colleges for General Education in the Southeast Region rankings.
The student loan default rate at FAU is lower than is typical, just 1.4% of students default in three years. Approximately 14,436 students take at least one class online at FAU. There are roughly 11,860 part time students in attendance at FAU.
Our rankings recognize Florida Gulf Coast University as the #2 school in this year's rankings. Located in the large suburb of Fort Myers, FGCU is a public school with a fairly large student population. As a testament to the quality of education offered at FGCU, the school also landed the #5 rank in our Best Colleges for General Education in the Southeast Region ranking.
The school has a low student loan default rate of 1.3%. Approximately 5,017 students take at least one class online at FGCU. 3,843 of FGCU students are attending part time.
Our rankings recognize Flagler College - St Augustine as the #3 school in this year's rankings. Flagler St. Augustine is a small private not-for-profit school located in the suburb of Saint Augustine. In addition to being on our best for non-traditional students list, Flagler St. Augustine has also earned the #1 rank in our Best Colleges for General Education in the Southeast Region ranking.
The school has a low student loan default rate of 1.5%. There are approximately 433 students at Flagler St. Augustine that take at least one class online. There are roughly 98 part time students in attendance at Flagler St. Augustine.
Fairmont State University landed the #4 spot in our 2021 best general education schools for non-traditional students. Located in the town of Fairmont, Fairmont State is a public school with a small student population. As a testament to the quality of education offered at Fairmont State, the school also landed the #7 rank in our Best Colleges for General Education in the Southeast Region ranking.
