In 2020-2021, 29,810 people earned their degree in general education, making the major the 41st most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, general education graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $48,719 and had an average of $23,394 in loans still to pay off.
Across Ohio, there were 706 general education graduates with average earnings and debt of $41,190 and $24,847 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Ohio for Education for a Master’s” ranking looked at 9 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in general education. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality general education programs as well as strong veteran support.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Ohio State University - Main Campus. The school came in at #1 for the Most Veteran Friendly in Ohio for Education for a Master’s. Ohio State is located in Columbus, Ohio and, has a large student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 208 masters’s education degrees to qualified students.
Ohio State not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #1 on our “Best General Education Master’s Degree Schools in Ohio” list.Our most recent data shows that 2 of the 61,369 students enrolled at Ohio State were GI Bill® students, of which 0 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. Baldwin Wallace University is a small school located in Berea, Ohio that handed out 13 masters’s education degrees in 2020-2021.
