With all of the options veterans have for higher education today, it can be tough to choose which direction to take. College Factual has developed its “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Education” ranking as one item you can use to help make this decision.

General Education is the 41st most popular major in the country with 29,810 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, general education graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $48,719 and had an average of $23,394 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southeast region, there were 4,037 general education graduates with average earnings and debt of $45,577 and $24,252 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Education” ranking analyzed 78 colleges that offered a degree in general education. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great general education programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

Some of the factors we look at when determining these rankings are overall quality of the general education program at the school, veteran affordability, and veteran population. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.
