Our “Most Veteran Friendly in Texas for Education” ranking is one tool we have developed to help in this regard.
General Education is the 41st most popular major in the country with 29,810 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, general education graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $48,719 and had an average of $23,394 in loans still to pay off.
Across Texas, there were 1,639 general education graduates with average earnings and debt of $47,850 and $22,429 respectively.
For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Texas for Education” ranking, we looked at 19 colleges that offer a degree in general education. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great general education programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.
To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as veteran satisfaction, veteran affordability, and overall quality of the general education program at the school. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.

Located in College Station, Texas, this large public school awarded 383 diplomas to qualified ’s education students in 2020-2021.
