Education is one of the most popular majors in the nation, ranking 4th of all the majors we analyze. In 2020-2021, 327,871 degrees were awarded to students with this major. In 2019-2020, education graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $46,202 and had an average of $24,437 in loans still to pay off.
Across Oregon, there were 4,329 education graduates with average earnings and debt of $46,136 and $25,159 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 734 education graduates with average earnings and debt of $38,095 and $25,983 respectively.

Top 11 Best Education Bachelor’s Degree Colleges for Veterans in Oregon
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Western Oregon University. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in Oregon for Education for a Bachelor’s list. This small school is located in Monmouth, Oregon, and it awarded 158 bachelors’s education degrees in 2020-2021.
Western Oregon State College also took the #1 spot in our “Best Education Bachelor’s Degree Schools in Oregon” ranking.According to our most recent data, Western Oregon University supports 4,554 students, and 187 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 89 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $7,651. During this same period, 2 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Located in Corvallis, Oregon, this large public school handed out 75 degrees to qualified bachelors’s education students in 2020-2021.
Oregon State also took the #2 spot in our “Best Education Bachelor’s Degree Schools in Oregon” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 1,559 of the 32,312 students enrolled at Oregon State University were GI Bill® students, of which 1,000 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $8,385. To help with additional expenses, 17 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Oregon State University does offer credit for military training for eligible students.
With a freshman retention rate of 85%, the school does an excellent job of retaining its undergraduate students. Out of the 11 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in Oregon for Education for a Bachelor’s that were part of this year’s ranking, Corban University landed the #4 spot on the list. Corban is a small school located in Salem, Oregon that handed out 24 bachelors’s education degrees in 2020-2021.

Located in Eugene, Oregon, this large public school awarded 80 diplomas to qualified bachelors’s education students in 2020-2021.

Linfield University - McMinnville Campus is located in McMinnville, Oregon and, has a small student population. Pacific University came in at #9 in this year’s edition of the Most Veteran Friendly in Oregon for Education for a Bachelor’s ranking. Pacific is a small school located in Forest Grove, Oregon that handed out 55 bachelors’s education degrees in 2020-2021.
