With 327,871 degrees handed out in 2020-2021, education is the 4th most popular major in the United States. In 2019-2020, education graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $46,202 and had an average of $24,437 in loans still to pay off.
Across Connecticut, there were 3,069 education graduates with average earnings and debt of $48,849 and $25,573 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Connecticut for Education” ranking analyzed 13 colleges that offered a degree in education. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great education programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.
To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as veteran satisfaction, veteran affordability, and overall quality of the education program at the school. See our ranking methodology to learn more.

Out of the 13 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in Connecticut for Education that were part of this year’s ranking, Quinnipiac University landed the #1 spot on the list. This medium-sized school is located in Hamden, Connecticut, and it awarded 181 ’s education degrees in 2020-2021.

Sacred Heart is a medium-sized school located in Fairfield, Connecticut that handed out 259 ’s education degrees in 2020-2021.
Sacred Heart did well in our major quality rankings, too. Southern Connecticut State University is located in New Haven, Connecticut and, has a medium-sized student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 376 ’s education degrees to qualified students.
