In 2019-2020, special education graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $45,679 and had an average of $24,977 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Middle Atlantic region, there were 7,683 special education graduates with average earnings and debt of $51,373 and $25,770 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 1,924 special education graduates with average earnings and debt of $40,457 and $25,851 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Middle Atlantic Region for Special Ed for a Bachelor’s” ranking looked at 51 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in special education. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent special education programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.
