It’s not easy to decide which college to attend when there so many options available for veterans. Our mission at College Factual is to arm you with as much information as we can to help you make that decision. Our “Most Veteran Friendly in the Plains States Region for English or French for a Master’s” ranking is one tool we have developed to help in this regard.
In 2020-2021, 5,791 people earned their degree in teaching English or French, making the major the 140th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, teaching English or French graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $46,917 and had an average of $20,920 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Plains States region, there were 577 teaching English or French graduates with average earnings and debt of $43,049 and $22,104 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Plains States Region for English or French for a Master’s” ranking analyzed 15 colleges that offered a degree in teaching English or French. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great teaching English or French programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.
To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as veteran satisfaction, veteran affordability, and overall quality of the teaching English or French program at the school. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.

Located in Grand Forks, North Dakota, this fairly large public school handed out 5 diplomas to qualified masters’s English or French students in 2020-2021.
