This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Great Lakes Region for Engineering-Related Fields for a Bachelor’s” ranking looked at 10 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in engineering-related fields. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent engineering-related fields programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the engineering-related fields program at the school, veteran affordability, and veteran satisfaction. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.

Eastern Michigan is located in Ypsilanti, Michigan and, has a fairly large student population. This fairly large school is located in Oxford, Ohio, and it awarded 17 bachelors’s engineering-related fields degrees in 2020-2021.

Miami University - Oxford also made our “Best Engineering-Related Fields Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Great Lakes Region” list, coming in at #6.According to our most recent data, Miami University - Oxford supports 18,880 students, and 405 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 259 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. University of Wisconsin - Stout is a medium-sized school located in Menomonie, Wisconsin that handed out 49 bachelors’s engineering-related fields degrees in 2020-2021.

As a testament to the quality of education offered at UW - Stout, the school also landed the #4 spot in our “Best Engineering-Related Fields Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Great Lakes Region” ranking.Of the 7,970 students enrolled at University of Wisconsin - Stout, 305 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Illinois Institute of Technology ranked #8 on this year’s Most Veteran Friendly in the Great Lakes Region for Engineering-Related Fields for a Bachelor’s list. Illinois Institute of Technology is a medium-sized private not-for-profit school situated in Chicago, Illinois. It awarded 18 bachelors’s engineering-related fields degrees in 2020-2021.

As a testament to the quality of education offered at Illinois Tech, the school also landed the #3 spot in our “Best Engineering-Related Fields Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Great Lakes Region” ranking.According to our most recent data, Illinois Institute of Technology supports 6,325 students, and 83 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 52 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients.
