In 2020-2021, 6,736 people earned their degree in engineering-related fields, making the major the 112th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, engineering-related fields graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $77,404 and had an average of $26,200 in loans still to pay off.
Across Ohio, there were 379 engineering-related fields graduates with average earnings and debt of $65,090 and $27,000 respectively.

Out of the 4 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in Ohio for Engineering-Related Fields for a Master’s that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Dayton landed the #1 spot on the list. UDayton is a private not-for-profit institution located in Dayton, Ohio. The school has a fairly large population, and it awarded 43 masters’s degrees in 2020-2021.
UDayton also took the #1 spot in our “Best Engineering-Related Fields Master’s Degree Schools in Ohio” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 197 of the 11,650 students enrolled at UDayton were GI Bill® students, of which 142 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $15,930. During this same period, 40 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Eligible students may be able to receive credit for their military training.

Ohio University - Athens Campus is a public institution located in Athens, Ohio. The school has a large population, and it awarded 70 masters’s degrees in 2020-2021.

It is also #2 on our “Best Engineering-Related Fields Master’s Degree Schools in Ohio” list.Our most recent data shows that 726 of the 25,714 students enrolled at Ohio University - Athens Campus were GI Bill® students, of which 324 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. Bowling Green State University - Main Campus is a fairly large public school situated in Bowling Green, Ohio. It awarded 21 masters’s engineering-related fields degrees in 2020-2021.
In addition to being on our ohio master’s degree vets studying engineering-related fields list, BGSU has also earned the #3 rank in our “Best Engineering-Related Fields Master’s Degree Schools in Ohio” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 577 of the 18,142 students enrolled at BGSU were GI Bill® students, of which 258 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $6,808. In addition to receiving other benefits, 3 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. BGSU offers credit for military training for eligible students.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Case Western Reserve University. The school came in at #4 for the Most Veteran Friendly in Ohio for Engineering-Related Fields for a Master’s. Cleveland, Ohio is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out masters’s engineering-related fields degrees to 17 students in 2020-2021.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at Case Western, the school also landed the #4 spot in our “Best Engineering-Related Fields Master’s Degree Schools in Ohio” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 109 of the 11,465 students enrolled at Case Western Reserve University were GI Bill® students, of which 69 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $18,799. During this same period, 35 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program.
With a freshman retention rate of 93%, the school does an excellent job of retaining its undergraduate students. The low undergrad student loan default rate of [DEFAULT_RATE_STRING]% is a good sign that students have an easier time paying off their loans than they might at other schools. For comparison, the national default rate is 10.1%.
