When it comes to choosing a college, veterans have a lot of options - but not all of them are good. Our “Most Veteran Friendly in the Middle Atlantic Region for Engineering-Related Fields for a Master’s” ranking is part of that endeavor.
Engineering-Related Fields is the 112th most popular major in the country with 6,736 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, engineering-related fields graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $77,404 and had an average of $26,200 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Middle Atlantic region, there were 1,427 engineering-related fields graduates with average earnings and debt of $81,863 and $26,940 respectively.
For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Middle Atlantic Region for Engineering-Related Fields for a Master’s” ranking, we looked at 9 colleges that offer a degree in engineering-related fields. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent engineering-related fields programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

Located in New York, New York, this large private not-for-profit school handed out 210 diplomas to qualified masters’s engineering-related fields students in 2020-2021.
In addition to being on our middle atlantic region master’s degree vets studying engineering-related fields list, NYU has also earned the #2 rank in our “Best Engineering-Related Fields Master’s Degree Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region” ranking.Of the 52,775 students enrolled at NYU, 1 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 1 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $6,388. On top of their other funding sources, 1 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program.

It ranked #4 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Middle Atlantic Region for Engineering-Related Fields for a Master’s list. Newark, New Jersey is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out masters’s engineering-related fields degrees to 109 students in 2020-2021.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at NJIT, the school also landed the #6 spot in our “Best Engineering-Related Fields Master’s Degree Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region” ranking.According to our most recent data, NJIT supports 11,652 students, and 164 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 83 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $10,409. During this same period, 0 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. NJIT does offer credit for military training for eligible students.

Located in Potsdam, New York, this small private not-for-profit school handed out 89 degrees to qualified masters’s engineering-related fields students in 2020-2021.
Clarkson did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #4 on our “Best Engineering-Related Fields Master’s Degree Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region” list.Of the 4,025 students enrolled at Clarkson, 67 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Johns Hopkins is located in Baltimore, Maryland and, has a large student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 59 masters’s engineering-related fields degrees to qualified students.

Stevens is a medium-sized school located in Hoboken, New Jersey that handed out 95 masters’s engineering-related fields degrees in 2020-2021.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at Stevens, the school also landed the #3 spot in our “Best Engineering-Related Fields Master’s Degree Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 48 of the 7,257 students enrolled at Stevens were GI Bill® students, of which 31 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients.
