Engineering-Related Fields is the 112th most popular major in the country with 6,736 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, engineering-related fields graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $77,404 and had an average of $26,200 in loans still to pay off.
Across the New England region, there were 247 engineering-related fields graduates with average earnings and debt of $100,464 and $0 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Engineering-Related Fields for a Master’s” ranking looked at 4 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in engineering-related fields. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent engineering-related fields programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

Out of that number, 290 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $8,664. During this same period, 29 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Eligible students may be able to receive credit for their military training.

Medford, Massachusetts is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out masters’s engineering-related fields degrees to 91 students in 2020-2021.
Tufts also took the #1 spot in our “Best Engineering-Related Fields Master’s Degree Schools in the New England Region” ranking.According to our most recent data, Tufts University supports 12,219 students, and 1 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 0 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. It ranked #3 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Engineering-Related Fields for a Master’s list. Massachusetts Maritime Academy is a small school located in Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts that handed out 25 masters’s engineering-related fields degrees in 2020-2021.
Maritime also made our “Best Engineering-Related Fields Master’s Degree Schools in the New England Region” list, coming in at #4.Our most recent data shows that 75 of the 1,637 students enrolled at Maritime were GI Bill® students, of which 31 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $8,796. In addition to receiving other benefits, 10 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Maritime does offer credit for military training for eligible students.

Western New England University is a small school located in Springfield, Massachusetts that handed out 18 masters’s engineering-related fields degrees in 2020-2021.
Western New England also took the #3 spot in our “Best Engineering-Related Fields Master’s Degree Schools in the New England Region” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 81 of the 3,673 students enrolled at Western New England were GI Bill® students, of which 37 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $12,271. In addition to receiving other benefits, 13 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program.
