Electrical Engineering is the 39th most popular major in the country with 28,844 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, electrical engineering graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $74,380 and had an average of $24,114 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Great Lakes region, there were 4,524 electrical engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $75,426 and $25,409 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 2,869 electrical engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $40,343 and $26,790 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Great Lakes Region for EE for a Bachelor’s” ranking analyzed 47 colleges that offered a degree in electrical engineering. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great electrical engineering programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.
