It’s not easy to decide which college to attend when there so many options available for veterans. College Factual was founded, in part, to help students make the decision as to what would be the best school for them. Our “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for EE for a Bachelor’s” ranking is part of that endeavor.
Electrical Engineering is the 39th most popular major in the country with 28,844 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, electrical engineering graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $74,380 and had an average of $24,114 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southeast region, there were 5,288 electrical engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $68,403 and $24,939 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 3,355 electrical engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $37,400 and $27,180 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for EE for a Bachelor’s” ranking looked at 56 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in electrical engineering. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality electrical engineering programs as well as strong veteran support.
To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as veteran satisfaction, veteran affordability, and overall quality of the electrical engineering program at the school. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.

Out of the 56 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for EE for a Bachelor’s that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Florida landed the #1 spot on the list. Located in Gainesville, Florida, this large public school handed out 133 diplomas to qualified bachelors’s EE students in 2020-2021.
