In 2020-2021, 28,844 people earned their degree in electrical engineering, making the major the 39th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, electrical engineering graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $74,380 and had an average of $24,114 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Middle Atlantic region, there were 5,045 electrical engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $74,174 and $23,793 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Middle Atlantic Region for EE for a Doctorate” ranking looked at 21 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in electrical engineering. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent electrical engineering programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

Out of the 21 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the Middle Atlantic Region for EE for a Doctorate that were part of this year’s ranking, Carnegie Mellon University landed the #1 spot on the list. This fairly large school is located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and it awarded 43 doctorate’s EE degrees in 2020-2021.
