The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great general engineering programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

Out of the 17 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the Middle Atlantic Region for Engineering for a Bachelor’s that were part of this year’s ranking, Carnegie Mellon University landed the #1 spot on the list. Carnegie Mellon is a fairly large school located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania that handed out 22 bachelors’s engineering degrees in 2020-2021.
Carnegie Mellon not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #1 on our “Best General Engineering Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region” list.Our most recent data shows that 117 of the 13,519 students enrolled at Carnegie Mellon University were GI Bill® students, of which 72 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. Located in Ithaca, New York, this large private not-for-profit school handed out 13 diplomas to qualified bachelors’s engineering students in 2020-2021.
Cornell also made our “Best General Engineering Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region” list, coming in at #4.Among the 23,620 students enrolled at Cornell, 2 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data.
