In 2019-2020, general engineering graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $68,873 and had an average of $20,557 in loans still to pay off.

Across Ohio, there were 326 general engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $94,330 and $10,526 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 85 general engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $39,341 and $26,852 respectively.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Ohio University - Athens Campus. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in Ohio for Engineering for a Bachelor’s list. OHIO Athens is a large public school situated in Athens, Ohio. It awarded 65 bachelors’s engineering degrees in 2020-2021.

OHIO Athens did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #1 on our “Best General Engineering Bachelor’s Degree Schools in Ohio” list.Of the 25,714 students enrolled at Ohio University - Athens Campus, 726 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 324 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $6,725. During this same period, 10 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Students may be able to receive credit for their military training, depending on their background.

Out of the 2 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in Ohio for Engineering for a Bachelor’s that were part of this year’s ranking, Miami University - Oxford landed the #2 spot on the list. Miami University - Oxford is a fairly large school located in Oxford, Ohio that handed out 12 bachelors’s engineering degrees in 2020-2021.

In addition to being on our ohio bachelor’s degree vets studying engineering list, Miami University - Oxford has also earned the #2 rank in our “Best General Engineering Bachelor’s Degree Schools in Ohio” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 405 of the 18,880 students enrolled at Miami University - Oxford were GI Bill® students, of which 259 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $6,877. On top of their other funding sources, 6 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Miami University - Oxford does offer credit for military training for eligible students.

With a freshman retention rate of 88%, the school does an excellent job of retaining its undergraduate students. The school has an impressive undergrad student loan default rate. It’s only [DEFAULT_RATE_STRING]%, which is much lower than the national rate of 10.1%.
